About Us
The German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK or AHK Ungarn) is a voluntary organization of about 900 companies committed to strengthening and broadening the economic ties between Germany and Hungary. It is the largest foreign chamber in Hungary.
Our history
The German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce has been established in May 1993 by 47 German and Hungarian companies and institutions. Since then, the Chamber has grown to become a respected representative of German direct investments in Hungary of about 18 billion euros. With respect to its tasks and its basic principles, the DUIHK continues the traditions of its predecessor, the German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, which was founded in 1920 and operated until 1945.
Our tasks and activities
The primary objective of the DUIHK is to promote and strengthen German-Hungarian economic relations. Today, the DUIHK provides a multitude of platforms for direct company contacts, offers a wide range of information and business services and advocates its members' interests towards political decision makers.
Our principles
- The DUIHK is a strictly bilateral organization. This applies to the organizational structure as well as to the focus of its services and activities.
- The DUIHK is strictly neutral towards political parties and does not engage in issues of political nature. Matters of economic policies are being treated according to the principles of European law and of fair and transparent market competition.
- Finally, the DUIHK focuses on practical solutions for companies which enable them to be more succesful in their field of business.
Globally connected
The DUIHK is a member of the worldwide German Chamber Network (AHK). This network comprises units in about 120 cities in 80 countries around the world. They all offer professional services, information and B2B-activities to German and foreign companies. The quality standards of their business services are being guaranteed and constantly improved by their common global trade mark “DEinternational”.
